What is the National Accreditation Entity? 

ENAC is the Spanish organization in charge of Accreditation of technical competence and impartiality of conformity assessment bodies, such as calibration laboratories, certification organizations, testing laboratories... 

Through ENAC accreditation, it is certified that these organizations carry out their work in accordance with internationally accepted standards and that they have the required technical competence.  

How to identify an ENAC accredited center? 

There are different ways to identify accredited centers, below are 4 methods to hdo it easily:  

1. Request to the center see your accreditation and be sure to verify that the document is valid and up to date.
2. Consult the list of accredited bodies on the ENAC website.
3. Look for the ENAC accreditation symbol on the center's website, in its physical facilities or in its documentation. This symbol is a clear indication that it has been evaluated and accredited. 
4. Check the international database ILAC (International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation). You can search their international databases to verify the accreditation of a specific center.

What does ENAC accreditation certify in a laboratory? 

• Dispose of competent personnel.
• It has the necessary equipment and facilities.
• The equipment are calibrated and properly maintained. 
• The tests or calibrations are executed using technically valid methods and procedures. 
• The methods and procedures are executed with the necessary expertise in accordance with best technical practices. 
• The activity is subject to an estrict quality control.
